COVID-19 Update
On May 26, 2020 the Government of Ontario amended the Emergency Measures act to allow for in-home physiotherapy visits.
What does this mean for our clients?
We are able to provide in-person physiotherapy services.
The safety of our clients, families, therapists and our community continue to be a top priority of Fundamentals Paediatric Physiotherapy. As such, we continue to follow all recommended Ontario COVID-19 guidelines for physiotherapy services.
What risk is associated with an in-person visit?
The most significant risk of an in-person visit is the possible risk of viral transmission, as it is expected that we will not be able to maintain the recommended 2 metre distance between the therapist, child, and caregiver(s).
What infection prevention and control measures are we taking to minimize this risk?
We are taking every recommended precaution to ensure the safety of our clients and our therapists. This includes regular client and therapist screening, wearing of personal protective equipment (PPE), diligent hand hygiene, and limiting equipment brought into the home. Please see our linked Infection Control Policies document for more information.
Will we still be offering virtual visits?
Absolutely. If an in-person visit is not possible due to client preference, illness, or other circumstances, we are happy to be able to offer a virtual appointment.
If you would like to discuss the risks and benefits of an in-home or virtual visit further, please get in touch. We are more than happy to discuss and problem solve with you.
Please note that the COVID-19 pandemic is an evolving situation. As such, our policies and procedures may change, and we will keep you updated as appropriate.
Please contact us with any questions or concerns.
